Life Lab Preview 4


Are you a planner or a spur of the moment person? Have you ever planned and had the reality of the experience throw off you plans?
Have you ever built up an experience do much in your mind that your expectations could never have been met? What was it? How did you deal with your disappointment?

The disciples of John had a lot of expectation of what Jesus would do when they believed that he was the Messiah. The problem was Jesus was not meeting their expectations. He had other plans for what it meant to be the Messiah.

What have you discovered about life with Jesus that was disappointing to you?


One of the biggest surprises in this passage from the weekend is that Jesus came to give us a lighter burden. Many of us think of God as trying to spoil our fun or make things harder. The Apostle Peter says this about the those who give their lives to God: read 1 Peter 2:9-10
God is one who gives mercy and takes us as his possession. We have a place of belonging and love because of the work of Christ on the cross. I love the picture coming from darkness to an amazing light. He takes us from a place of disarray and gives us an identity and work to pursue, a work that gives our life meaning. A work that we were built to accomplish.
